Please forgive my ignorance. Our pool will be 3 months old Nov 1. I was pool stored for awhile and just switched over to bbb about a month ago.
My question is this. We have been using the attached spa and it has developed some scaling on the side where it spills over. I finally figured out it was due to high ph from the water temp in the spa. I’ve been playing around with various numbers on the csi app. From what I understand the ph needs to be a little higher in the colder water and lower in hotter water... according to my numbers. If we use the spa I need lower ph but the main pool needs higher. Can I add ma directly to the spa prior to use? Then after it will drain into the main pool. Or do I lower my full pools ph before we use the spa?
Here are my numbers
FC 10
CC 0
Ph 7.7
Ch 250
TA 120 (just reduced from 150 after I found scale.)
CYA 90 (down from 110 a month ago once I dumped pucks. Pool gets tons of use from little ones)
So when the water temp gets low the csi is happy with ph around 7.8 but the spa wants 7.4. Opinions please.
Thank you for your time.
