Spa Jets Incorrectly Installed

I just got all my pool equipment installed. To my surprise, two of the jets weren’t working properly. The builder said I needed a booster for the suction line. I drained the spa down a bit, and realized the two jets do not have jets installed inside of the pipes. What are my options to make them work?

Hey Jim. I thought it was a simple fix too. His son was over today and acted like they didn’t know how they were going to install them. I don’t know much about pool plumbing but wouldn’t those pipes in there need a thread to screw the jet into? Or would they just glue that piece in.

If they try to give me a run around I just want to have a solution.

Chris,

It appears to me that the part of the plumbing that holds the jets are missing... Not sure the missing parts can be installed after the gunite is finished or not..

I still think it is up to them to fix it no matter what..

I guess, as a last resort, you could just cap off the two lines with no jets..

Have you ever been in a gunite spa before??? I ask, because about 50% of new poo/spa owners never use the spa after the first couple of months, as they are not a great as they are made out to be..

Let's see what @1poolman1 has to say about repairing what you have now.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I suppose that is what I am trying to figure out. The pool builder is offering to demo out that area so he can correctly install the jets. I am not too excited about a new pool with two patched mini pebble areas though.

I have never been in a gunite spa before, aside from when I was younger at a friend's house. This is our first pool.

Chris,

How many jets in total are there supposed to be in your spa??

You are definitely between a rock and a hard place... But what are your choices??

1. You can't do nothing, as the spa will not work the way it is..
2. Have the pool builder fix the problem and just live with the patches.
3. Have the inoperable lines capped off and just not used. Kind of depends on how many other jets there are.

Thanks,

Jim R.
