we have this on going problem with the spa self draining, we've replaced the check valve and it did not fix the problem as I think it should have.
Spa is self draining, why???

Could be the suction side valve at the pump that controls where the water is drawn from. If the diverted door inside the valve is not properly sealing then you may be drawing water from both the pool and spa but only sending back to the pool.
tried, site will not let me.
valve for the spa return line is in the closed position.

here is the manifold were the water is pumped to the pool and spa, the check valve is in the right hand end of it.
Turn the outside valve 90 degrees clockwise to shut off line marked spa. With that line open spa will drain back to pool
Then its the check valve on the end. Unscrew cap off, should be a spring and a disc with a rubber seal. Usually have to replace disc, sometimes spring to.V20-068 Val-Pak Products
we have replaced the check valve, don't know how old the spring is, that was my next move, find a replacement spring.
They make a 1lb and a 3lb spring might try the 3lb.Ortega (Purex) Check Valve Spring, SS 3Lb., 072524
NEWS FLASH----Spa is no longer draining down, the new spring was the final key to the problem, Thanks everyone
