Hi,
Little bit of an issue with the spa water draining down below the jets with the system off, check valve has been changed and still happening, can not figure out what may be the issue. Attached is pictures of the plumbing and valves. Any help or suggestions would be helpful

Charlie,

Does the water stop right below the jets or does it drop well below the jets?

If well below the jets than you have two possibilities..

1. The Intake valve is leaking... (back into the pool..)

2. The spa light is leaking (into the ground..)

Thanks,

Jim R.

It looks like your spa spillover runs when in pool mode because your pool/spa return actuator is partially open in POOL mode. The lets water drain from the spa back into the pool since your check valve is placed above the return valve.

Show us better pics of the pipes around the GVA24 return actuator.

Hmm, when pool and spa is off I do see some movement coming out of pool jet

Charlie,

I knew something was not right when I looked at the pics, but Allen is spot on.. :goodjob:

There are two ways to send water to the spa jets, when in the pool mode, to cause the spa to spillover..

1. A make-up line.. (That is what the blue ball valve and the check valve are..)

OR...

2. Off set the Return valve to allow some water to go the the spa jets when the system is in the pool mode..

Since you have a make-up line, it does not make any sense to have your Return valve off-set as you currently do.

I suggest that you reset your Return valve so that the Spa jet line is 100% off, when in the Pool mode, and 100% open in the Spa mode.

That should solve your draining problem.

Thanks,

Jim R.
