Spa breaker tripping upon startup

My Nordic Hot Tub is powering up properly and getting to the pump priming mode without any issues. When the pump is attempted to be started while in this mode, either manually or 'in sequence', the inline GFCI trips. I've had the single speed motor out and refurbished at a local shop, where they replaced the capacitor and verified it is operating properly. After re-installing the pump I still get the breaker being tripped.

Again, the controller/system powers up and cycles through to the priming mode each time, but then trips when the motor is attempted to be started. The heating unit has a flow verification check before turning on, so I assume it's too early in the sequence for the heater to be causing it. Any suggestion?

TIA

Don

Welcome to TFP.

It is probably a heater problem. Disconnect the heater wires and see if the tub runs.

@RDspaguy may have ideas.

Post pics of equipment area, circuit board, and wiring diagram so I can see what you've got in there.

got the heater power disconnected
Did you disconnect both heater leads?

the inline GFCI trips
Is it a cord-end, in the pack, or breaker?

I've had the single speed motor out and refurbished at a local shop, where they replaced the capacitor and verified it is operating properly.
Was it tripping before this? Did they test it on a gfci?

Think it might be a bad relay on the board!!
Highly unlikely.
Disconnect ozone, blower, stereo/lighting power supply, etc. Just leave the pump(s) connected.
Post the pics or I'm just guessing.
