Some help needed

Hey Everyone,

I've been battling a black algae problem all summer and I finally have the pool looking blue again (for the most part, still some small spots of black). However, my water chemistry has been a little out of whack and I was looking for some help before using it.

Test results from today:
FC 6.4
CC 0.0
PH 8
TA 150
CH 150
CYA 30

I have noticed hard scale on my polaris tubing and the water feels hard.

My question is, should I continue to shock to try to bring that FC up? Or should I try to lower the PH first. I've been using 10% bleach and the pool math calculator, but I'll admit I haven't been very dedicated at trying to maintain the shock level of FC.

I suggest reducing your pH to 7.2 using PoolMath.

Follow the protocol for Black Algae as shown in the article.
