Solid Loop-loc Safety Cover

I have had a mesh Loop-loc cover for my pool for 13 years. It is now worn out so I need to buy a new one this fall to install when I close my pool. I could get a new mesh cover but my daughter's dog found running on it and digging at the water as it comes up through the mesh is a fun activity. The dog is one reason the current cover didn't reach 14 years. I thought that if I installed a solid cover instead of a mesh cover, the dog would be less attracted to the cover without water coming up through it. Yes, I understand that I'll need a sump pump to drain off any rainwater that builds up on the cover.

Anyone with experience with a solid cover?

They are heavier. I have a mesh on our pool and use a hand cart to transport it to and from the pool. Nothing bad about them. Could solve the issue but you’d need to consult with the pooch to be sure.
