Can I use sodium hydrogen sulphate to reduce ph or will it cause me problems?

Ph-7.6
Ta-173
Cya-60
FCl-10.3
Tcl-11.3

I think I need to slam and believe I need to lower ph 1st.

I am using liquid chlorine.
It’s a 7000 gal Vinyl pool. Temp around 79

Thanks!

We call that Sodium BiSulfate, or Dry Acid.
You can use it. It adds sulfates to your pool water. If they build up in the water they can destroy metals and concrete. So if you have a heater or other metals in contact with the water it can be detrimental over the long term.

Mknauss thank you i didn’t realise the name was different. I do have a Pentair heater so sounds like best not to use sodium bisulphate. Can I slam at the current ph or should I be using mutraic acid.

I think total chlorine and free chlorine stayed large constant overnight but still 1 of combined. Do I slam to get rid of that or use sunshine. Pool has a solar cover.

What does the water look like? A solar cover will trap CC. Take it off and let the sun hit the surface of the pool.

Lowering of the pH to low 7's prior to SLAM is because you cannot test it during SLAM (FC above 10 ppm). If your pH does not naturally rise, no issues leaving it as is.
