Just a minor update - I REALLY like dual filter basket!

We've had a bunch of windy/dusty days here and the Palo Verde trees are finally starting to let-up on their pollen onslaught. I ran my cleaner a few times in the last week and, while the basket only had minor leaf/flower/bug debris in it, the fines filter was nicely loaded with each run. It looks a little off white BUT when I sprayed it down with the hose, the water running off it was grey and murky. So Mr. T was really sucking up a lot of fine particulates. Previously, all of that fine stuff would go straight into my DE filter so it's nice to know that it's not.

Im becoming more interested in these cleaners as time goes on.

It "seems" that the fine filter grids may be small enough to work in my situation.

Im confused about the dual filter basket, and can't seem to find a decent picture of that setup.

Are there two separate different sized filter media? Is it a "box in a box" type deal or something else?

When I look it up online I see a larger container with filter grids that snap to the walls. I get that these can be coarse or fine, but I can't see a dual element setup.

I also see some maytronics robots have a V shaped container where the grids snap to the sides.

Can someone snap a pict for me of the dual filter setup?

Thanks

Uncle Dave

Awesome just what I needed to see. Box in Box.

Is there a micron rating on the fine filter?

Thank you!!

UD

Ya know, I never asked. Like you, I'd have to go searching for it to see if I could find it out. I will say this, it is a very fine filter. Even when my pool is visually clean to the naked eye, if I run the cleaner and pull it out, the fines filter will be brown/grey with silt. You can see it when you hose it off, the water is all cloudy brown as it runs off the filter. Being in the desert and with few trees around my pool, sand and silt blown in on the air are the biggest problem and this cleaner DEFINITELY catches all of it. It is running in the pool now; when I wash out the filter basket, I'll see if I can capture some of the rinse water and get a feel for the fine particles it is catching.

Obviously you saw my last post about Godzilla-mode....I'm pretty darn impressed that the until sucked that little monster up. Had my old suction cleaner come upon that lizard, it would have either gotten stuck on it or it would have just kicked it around the pool. I will still say that I am so far very happy with this cleaner, it is working very well.

I ask because the stuff I get at the bottom will go through a sand filter, but zeobrite and DE will catch and hold it. (I tried all three)

It went right through a polaris 360's fine bag.

I live about 1/3 mile from the 10/405 intersection in LA, and I get debris thats like a combo of rubber dust, and oil mixed with super fine dust. Never had anything like this in all my pools.

Thanks again.

UD
