Small leak w/ Hayward Skimmer on Intex pool

Yesterday we installed a Hayward Skimmer onto our vinyl Intex pool. We split the gasket, trimmed the bolts to what seemed like just the right size, and overall it went well, but it does have two small leaks on either side. Any ideas on how I can plug this up without removing the whole thing and adding some kind of sealant? Gorilla glue? Or am I doomed to have to drain the pool enough to unscrew it all and try again?

Do you have it going across a seam? If it's the horizontal seam is the water over it?

one possible solution would be to drain down just below the skimmer and seal it up with some good quality silicone. it sounds like your gasket did not seat good. when i installed my skimmer i did not cut the gasket. i have not had any leaks for going on 3 years now.

It is not running across any seams. Beginning to wish we hadn't split the gasket, but all things considered these are tiny leaks so I'm not super worried about the longevity of the pool at least - just gotta get it sealed, it sounds like!

I just installed one also and split the gasket but I didn’t trim the screws and it was doing the same thing I just went and tightened the screws more and it’s been fine no leaks
