Slow SLAM - normal?

I started with a clear pool - just was losing chlorine overnight on my OCLT test and wanted to get that fixed. I've been going for 9 days now, and still can't pass that test. Below are my numbers up to this point. I started using my SWG along the way to help reduce all the chlorine needs so those % represent what I have it set at. Is this normal it would be taking this long when I was starting with a pretty clean pool (or so I thought)?

What is your CYA?

Clean your testing vial with alcohol.

If you have no visible dead or live algae, and no CC, then let the FC come down to about 20% of CYA and do your OCLT.

So still be going through this process - about 4 weeks now, which seems crazy. I’m keeping my FC at 24 and doing an overnight test every 4-5 days with the SWG off. Last one I did I still lost 3.5 overnight. This seems crazy how long I’ve been doing this to still have something in the water. It’s been crystal clear since the start. The powder stuff on the bottom has been gone for several days now after I vacuumed it. I gave the filters a good cleaning a week ago. What else could possibly be going on? I’m about ready to stop trying with how long this has lasted and all the liquid chlorine I’ve gone through…

Clean your test vial with alcohol.
As stated above, if no dust, dead algae, etc, let FC drop to low teens and do OCLT again.

Less testing error.
Normally if you have your case with no dust, no dead algae, crystal clear water, and cannot pass an OCLT, it is testing error.

You allowed the FC to drop towards 10 ppm? That is too much loss if at that level.

Search for hidden algae.
