Thank you for that! Gives me hope!!! Is it safe for my granddaughter to swim right now?my pool looked like yours a month or so ago I followed the slam process it took me 15 days to pass all 3 criteria it will get there
Hey....I see you have a Creepy Crawler. Mine goes to the end of its hose and just stops and sits in one place....any ideas?my pool looked like yours a month or so ago I followed the slam process it took me 15 days to pass all 3 criteria it will get there
Thanks!and I personally would not swim unless I can see the bottom of the pool clearly
Just keep up the chlorine- it should be “eating” less now. The filter needs time to do its work so run it 24/7 & Don’t backwash until the pressure rises 25% over Clean pressure. Brush or vac everyday & take pics everyday so you can see the difference its very helpful. It will be beautiful before u know it!
As a rule of thumb, it is safe to swim if FC is in between minimum and SLAM level for your CYA *and* you can see the entire bottom of the pool. The FC keeps the water sanitary and being able to see the bottom of the pool is for safety due to the drowning risk.Thank you for that! Gives me hope!!! Thank you!If the FC is still elevated for your SLAM, I would only focus on the CYA and FC. If the FC is close to 10, I might check the pH as well. All the others can wait.
If all you did was clean the poolside skimmer basket or the pump strainer pot basket, then perhaps the dead algae was just sitting on top of the sand in your filter. Since you didn't seem to do a backwash, some of it blew right back in. If you did backwash, maybe you just need to do the RINSE a bit longer afterwards.could see all the dead white algae being pushed back into the pool for a minute. Should I have rinsed the pump before turning it back on?

Normally no. If all you did was clean the skimmer or pump strainer pot, that's fine. But perhaps your filter itself is getting overwhelmed with the dead algae. Do you see the pressure gauge building? Does the needle move at all, or fall to zero when off? I wonder if the needle/gauge is going bad? Anyways, perhaps a good backwash followed by a 30-40 second rinse may help.I turned the pump on to clear pump strainer. And then turned it back on. Should I have done a rinse before filtering?
I have been checking the gauge regularly. I have a spare. I'll swap it out.Normally no. If all you did was clean the skimmer or pump strainer pot, that's fine. I have noticed lately anytime I turn off the pump the first few seconds it pushes. This is only the third year....I shouldn't need new sand already should I?Normally no.
