I'm going to take a crack at this... one thing at a time
Take those pucks out - they are acidic - you
shouldn't need them if we can nail this FC/CYA
---
FC During SLAM:
During SLAM - only focus on your FC. You need to maintain a SLAM-level FC until you can pass all three criteria (crystal clear water, pass an OCLT, CC of 0.5 or lower)
What is your current CYA level? You need to maintain your SLAM against that level. If you're saying your CYA is 30 PPM, you need FC to be at 12 or higher (
per the chart here - set for SLAM). If you can, check every 2-3 hours and replace FC as it falls during those time periods - at minimum you need to check FC 3-4 times a day.
If you let your FC fall to a 5 PPM - then you're going to have some ground to make up.
---
PH During SLAM:
FC above 10 nulls a PH reading
If you are showing FC of 5, go ahead and check your PH - and lower it to 7.2 - 7.5 using muriatic acid and restart SLAM.
---
Rule of thumb:
SLAM or Maintenance - don't let your FC bottom out. Zero FC is a breeding ground for algae.
Once you're done SLAMing - let's check your full panel and we'll show you the "range" for your FC. Your daily maintenance needs to keep you in that range and allow for overnight loss/evaporation.
@PoolStored How'd I do?!
