I had some leaves and debris fall in my pool when I opened it. Had a newborn in the NICU and couldn't take sufficient time to clean everything out in May/June when I usually would get the pool right. I've battled it back and forth all summer in an endless cycle of shock, green, shock, green. I now have a couple weeks free where I can work on it. Is it worth it to SLAM before closing or would it be a better option to drain and start fresh?

Welcome to TFP.

If you feel it is safe to drain your pool and water is metal free and inexpensive then a drain, refill, and then a quick SLAM Process may be your easiest way to a clear pool.
