SLAM or do a OCLT first?

Let the chlorine come down to just above target and start the SWCG generating your normal FC daily loss. Start at 3 ppm FC each day and adjust as necessary to maintain at or above target FC.

According to this, with a CYA of 70 I should be shooting for 5 to 10 FC with a minimum of 3. Correct?

So, I'll have to adjust the % for the SWG to make sure I'm in that range per day. And obviously go up when the pool is heavily used...

Yes, I run it at 9-10 all the time. Perfectly fine and if I have a heavy FC demand day, it keeps me away from minimum. #TeamRunHot

Yup, I remember you saying that. And with the RJ 60+, that is rated for up to a pool 3 times my volume (lol), it should be a breeze to handle.

Tested it and the CL came at 26. Added enough to bring back up to 28. When I brushed the floor, there was a faint amount of green clouds puffing up in a small area (Hopefully that's just the behind the light residue trying to stick around ) anyway, SLAM we go and the robot goes in as well.

Oh yeah, and pictures.

I know right? SWCG is boring.

At this point, I'll take boring lol
I know, right?

Two thing happen when people successfully SLAM.
1) Their confidence level with the pool goes through the roof. It is a great educational tool.
2) They don't ever want to do it again.

Hrm, 25. Took my time both times, and the second in the afternoon was.. different.

I have no idea.

Gonna test before bed. Brushed bottom real quick, no puff clouds.

24 now. I did add CL when I did the test at 25.

Sun was pretty strong this afternoon, and the pool gets plenty of it.

We'll see what it's like in the am. The fluxating CL is a bit unerving tho.

Can you please clarify this?
Did the test around 6ish? Added CL back to slam level at 28.

Retested around 9 for the overnight result. I thought it would be closer to 28 even a couple hours later. It's now around 24.

Does CL fall faster when it's in the higher numbers in the sunlight?

Really don't know what to think. :-/

First CL test 28.5
Maybe I made a mistake... did another at 24.5

(Which would be inline with last night's test)

Did 5 tests afterwards, all 28 or 28.5

😞

I thought the CYA test was frustrating. This is just down right brutal.

Between last night and this morning you appear to have some inconsistencies with the FC testing, but it can happen. Normally that might be a problem, however even if we go with the first (higher) FC number from last night, you passed this morning. I would call this a win.

Thank you.

Is there a reason why? Only part that concerns me the most is when I start the SWG process, I definitely don't want to mess up balancing that.

Of course, I'm not putting in 40 plus drops all the time at that point...

I had the same issue with my slam towards the end. It's really hard when you are pushing high fc but like texas said I'd call it and let it drift down and just do more oclt's as it's coming down. If it's good you will pass those too 😁

Based on his experience here saving 1000s of pools.

Let FC drift down, start the SWCG when you get to the top of the recommended range for your CYA
