Day 7 of SLAM. Have been keeping FC up to SLAM level of 18 and doing OCLT about every day. I have been losing anywhere from 2-5 ppm overnight. 2 nights ago I went from 21 at 930pm to 16 at 6:00. I was frustrated so I left it at 16. Came home from work after being gone all day and at 5:00pm it was at 15. I was surprised it only dropped 1 ppm over 11 hours. My kids and dogs were all swimming off and on until 9:30pm so I didn’t add anything and made sure SWG was off and I tested at 10:30 and was at 13. I was going to add but decided not to. I got up at 6:00am and tested - 13.5.
Water is clear and CC was testing at 0.
Am I good to go? I’ll probably let FC come down and do another OCLT tonight maybe?

It doesn't make sense to lose 6 FC at night with no UV or bather load but only 1 during the day. Also weird that you gained .5 overnight, but one drop variation here or there is not impossible. I would double check your testing methods for consistency. Do you have a speed stir? Are you holding the bottle completely vertical when adding drops? As for the powder, it's better to have a little more to bind with your FC than not enough.

Are you using a 10ml sample or 5ml? I have a SWG so my SLAM FC is pretty high and I sometimes use 5ml. I've found that if you use 5ml and your measurement isn't right on, the results can be all over the place. I use a children's medicine syringe to measure out 5ml and that helped. Either way, do one more OCLT and then you should be good if it passes.

I use 10ML. The only inconsistencies I have is usually on the scoop of powder. I try to level it off as best as possible.

I’m not sure about the night before, maybe too many Coors Lights…

I’m gonna test again tonight.
