Just had a fiberglass pool installed. Shell in the ground yesterday. Builder put first tanker of water in (2/3 full) and the second is coming tomorrow.

The pool was put in closed, no water in lines etc. my question is should I fill the pool to just below the skimmer or should I put it half way up since everything is closed off. The skimmer has a gizzmo installed and I’m ordering a skimmer plug.

We may have one or two nights of freezing temps before the skimmer plug arrives

Thanks!

Stuff some cut up pool noodles around the Gizzmo and your skimmer will be fine.

I would ask your Pool Builder what the minimum water level should be. You don''t want to get a big rain that pops the pool up.

They were fine with the water level where it was. But want to make sure just in case. Water is cheap…relatively speaking. I’ll probably just have the guy fill to the bottom of the skimmer and top of the rest myself come late spring (well water)
