Skimmer weir stuck

I have a skimmer that is not cracked or damaged but somehow the weir is stuck down. I looked at it and it is way too tight. I don’t remember if it ever worked right.

I am thinking of sanding the edges down and seeing if I can get it to swing properly. Anyone else see this before?

I've had this happen to me twice over the last 10yrs. I've never figured out how or why they stick. I do know both times I installed a new one it worked perfectly.

You have nothing to lose by sanding the door. It's worked for many people before.

I'd drain some water and try to see which areas where rubbing so I could focus on those.

Before sanding anything down, ensure the weir door is installed correctly.

Look on the underside of the lid for the skimmer make and model number. Post that. We can help with how to remove and inspect, and install it correctly.
