Can anybody point me to the proper piece to connect this Intex hose to my skimmer? Wrapping with duct tape and press fitting is not reliable enough for me anymore.

It looks like the black adapter is held on to the hose with a hose clamp. Undo the hose clamp, remove the black fitting and put the hose on the skimmer adapter and tighten the hose clamp (removing the black adapter from the equation).

Thanks for the reply! So I actually put that hose clamp on in an attempt to hold it on, but the cuff is too stiff to actually squeeze it.

I think I just need to use a different hose, where the hose clamp will actually clamp it down. I ordered one for Saturday hopefully it will resolve it. Either that or somehow replace the bottom piece in the skimmer, or even the entire skimmer basket.

I would get the proper hose, before I traded out the adaptor, or the skimmer. Swapping skimmers is a real pain and risk. Plenty of skimmers on AGP with that adapter, with proper hoses, work just fine.

Clean all the old duct tape and residue off the adapter with goo gone or WD-40, then clean the goo gone and WD-40 residue with windex or other multi-purpose cleaner. You want a nice clean surface.
