Skimmer is clogged

Has anyone ever had a skimmer clog due to chemical buildup in the pipes? Our skimmer has zero suction. We stuck a camera down there and at first thought we were dealing with a dead animal. Now we're starting to think it's chemical buildup in the pipe.
Wondering if anyone has run into this before.

Ok... tell the truth... What chemicals have you been adding to your skimmer???

It is never a good idea to add anything through your skimmer...

It is using a cheap camera directly down into the skimmer and around the first 90 degree angle.

We never add anything to the skimmer. I'm baffled. I couldn't think of anything other than a buildup of some sort, or an animal.
