Skimmer/Bottom drain operation

Hi all, Havent had a pool in a few years due to relocating to Corpus Christi. We just finished construction in March. Its a little late now, but im wondering if my pool builder did my piping correctly concerning the skimmers and the bottom drain. I have two skimmers and a double bottom drain. My main circulation pump draws from the skimmers (or the spa) only. My waterfall pump draws from the bottom drain only. If my returns are pointed to create flow back toward the skimmers, will I get proper mixing of the entire pool on the main pump alone? Right now I have the waterfall set to run for a couple hours a day just to make sure that water gets circulated.

Is it normal to set up the main pump on the skimmers only?

dude,

Pools don't need main drains. I have two rent house pools that have not had operating main drains for 10 or more years. It just makes no difference.

Your water will circulate just fine.

Your waterfall pump needs to get water from somewhere. The floor drains make perfect sense. Otherwise, you'd end up with two more drains on your pool floor.

Thanks,

Jim R.
