Shut pump during storm??

Our vs pump is on a timer so we don’t mess with it much. Should we shut it during a thunderstorm or when we leave the house?

You should have a power surge protector on your whole pool equipment system. If so then you are fine. If not see about getting one. I will also say that just turning your pump off will not protect it. Only unplugging it will protect it without a surge protector.
