Short SLAM or wait till I get back from work trip?

So I made a mistake and let my FC drop for a few days below the minimum...and now I have a SLIGHT Algae issue, so slight that the water is super clear, but it is not up to my TFP standards, so did a OCLT and lost 1.5PPM, time to SLAM.

HOWEVER today I have exactly 10 hours before I have to leave for a trip, so is there any use trying a one day SLAM, or should I use my Stenner, bump it up a bit and when I return next week, do the proper SLAM.

So I thought of that, but I have a solar cover and worried it would destroy it, guess I could take off the cover for a week, but then my kid would not be happy.

Yeah I guess I really have no choice.

I like the wait idea, because I know a half butt SLAM is just a waste of Bleach

So just to confirm I finally got back...

slam for three days ...pass overnight test with colors pools crystal clear yet the first day after slam my free chlorine went from 24 to 14 with no sun and the solar cover on

this makes no sense or is that normal
