CYA is important to test for, so yes, that is good. What test kit did you buy Marty?
CYA basically is not linear and we round up, so if the dot disappears between 30 and 40 for example, then round up to 40 and then maintain your FC according to your CYA level.
What "tester" are you using? If it is not the TF-100 or the K-2006 or K-2006C ... then it is likely not one of the recommended test kits because it does not have the FAS-DPD chlorine test.
