You can use a piece of saran wrap to verify the leak. If you confirm it is a leak in a pvc glue joint you can put some pvc glue in the joint while the pump is running and the suction will pull it into the joint. Some kind of syringe would work best.

What is the process for using Saran wrap to verify the leak. Just hold it up next to the join and see if it gets sucked in?

Not sure how I missed your question. Yes, just hold some saran wrap to the pipe and it will seal the leak. Good deal on getting it fixed!
