What is the serial number for the pump?

When was the pump made?

In my opinion, Liberty Seals are not the same quality as US Seals.

In my opinion, it's inappropriate for Liberty to use the same part numbers as US Seals because it causes confusion as to the source of the seal.

In my opinion, the part number PS-4280 is a trademark of US Seal.

I think it's 2005

I managed to get it back into the housing using old seal plate o-ring. I guess the Liberty o-ring is a little thicker or denser maybe because it's new?

P.S. Inyopools also sells Pump Shaft Seal, 5/8", Viton - PS-3890. Since US Seal doesn't make Viton version of 3890 I assume inyopools uses outsourced Liberty like products.

The Northstar pump is junk and it's usually best to replace it rather than keep putting money into it.

when I decide to replace it, what brand should I go with?
Not sure if I should care about higher efficiency models since pump runs about 4-6 hours a day for about 4 months. Cost of electricity including everything is under $0.14 kwh
