SERIOUS liner issue! Pics included! HELP!!

Update: I just went out to look since the sun came out finally and there was dirt where all the wrinkles are (where the suspected “tears/rips” were that I posted the pics of earlier), and I no longer see the “slits” with the white next to/under it that I saw yesterday!!!! This is so weird, but I’ll take it. Maybe it’s because yesterday was the warmest day so far and the sun was beaming down on the water all day and the water temps went up the highest they have so far. Maybe yesterday’s cleaning and additions of bleach (quite a bit) and stabilizer (9 ounces) didn’t help the matter much? Oh well. My pool isn’t leaking, y’all!!!!

I’m still not thrilled with the ugly wrinkles on the bottom, but I hate this liner anyways so it gives me an excuse to get the one I want in a year or two plus fix whatever the issue is that caused the wrinkles in the first place (it wasn’t the installers — this happened over the winter/early spring). Anyways, for now, I think I’m in the clear (literally and figuratively haha). Thank you all so much for your help and for calming me down lol!!!!! This is the main wrinkle that I thought was a huge rip yesterday BEFORE I gently brushed away the dirt, just so you can see it better since my liner has the annoying white swirls lol. After brushing the dirt away, it just looked like my regular ole wrinkles without the “knife slashed through my liner” appearance. Water level is still exactly the same too. I’m so dramatic, LOL!

Well I LOVE your pattern. So THERE. :pth:

See if you can fix or lessen the wrinkle when it's tolerable to get in for a while. :)
But you have a nice big IG pool so it doesn’t matter haha! It’s not the swirls so much as it is the border on my liner. It’s the “Mysteri Gold”. I really wish they had as many options for AGPs that they do for IG. Very few to choose from. The one I’m getting next is super pretty, tho!

TL;DR: I DO NOT HAVE ANY RIPS OR LEAKS!! 😁🥳🥳🥳🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I’m just an overthinking, OCD drama queen lol

But wow, it really is crazy how different it looked yesterday compared to today. You’d have to see both in person to really understand. This liner is hard to photograph accurately lol.

THANK YOU everyone for your help!! I love this forum so much! 🤗

Casey is no fan and named them swirly swirl swirls. :ROFLMAO:

as it is the border on my liner. It’s the “Mysteri Gold”.
I am hardcore on team borderless IMO they came about back when to fancy them up like their plaster counterparts. Except, you get what equates to the pool version of linoleum tiles. With seashells and Aztec designs ? I have no idea what either of them has to do with the pool.
I really wish they had as many options for AGPs that they do for IG.
Nooooooooooooo. The analysis paralysis is awful, especially for you. Ironically going borderless cut the choices down to 7 (?) and it was much easier to pick.

Just read this saga. Glad all is well. I can sympathize with an overthinking mind and am happy you can be at peace again. Float on, Queen.

and stabilizer (9 ounces) didn’t help the matter much?
I wonder if it was some rogue stabilizer sitting in the wrinkles?
That would explain the white! I know that I have seen it collect/settle even though I use a thick sock. It’s more noticeable with a skimmer sock/panty hose.

Now that the white is gone and there aren't any tears if the wrinkles bother you you can try the plunger. I had a couple wrinkles last year and I kind of put my feet on either side of them and spread my feet out from them a little at a time, it seemed to work somewhat but I am on a sand base. Mystri Gold is a great choice of liner, we picked that as well!

Edit: I just realized you didn't like the liner. I feel the opposite ... our first liner was a pale blue wall with a swirl pattern on the floor. When the sun hit it, it sparkled beautifully and it looked really inviting when looking at it from the 2nd floor of our house. I wanted the same effect with the new pool, the border for us adds a little something to the pool and the swirls and the darker blue make the pool sparkle in the sunlight. But we all have preferences which makes having a choice good!

 there, there, there Queeny! It is all okay now. BUT I can SO understand your concern and worry when you first saw it!!! What happened to my pooooooooooooolllllllllllll???????

You will be able to move the wrinkles when the water warms up. Don't even think about trying it quite yet. It needs to be nice and warm so it will move easily.

I am so glad you found TFP so we can be there to support and help as needed! :kim:

Too me when I first thought about the white parts I instantly thought it was some pollen fluff from trees. Right now it's in your water, you don't really see it when it's dispersed throughout, but it can accumulate like that at edges. I get a lot of this in my hairnet of my skimmer basket right now.

But really weird that you said you couldn't brush it out?

If it makes you feel any better I have that exact same liner withi similar wrinkles and a few stretched divots that are 3 y/o. Still going strong with no leaks but my OCD really wants to drain and fix but after a few beers while floating on a raft, I fall asleep and forget about it.
That is tooooo funny! And actually does make me feel better! Hahaha!

I had the same problem years ago with our AGP. I used the Gorilla Pad as well. I think water got between the top of the Gorilla Pad and the underside of the liner. My liner seemed to "float" and got wrinkles. To make matters worse, when I would manually vacuum(didn't have a robot), the liner would get sucked into the vacuum head where the wrinkles were. When you have to finally change your liner, I would ditch the Gorilla Pad and just use sand as the base.

With me it is DE. And I have that same pattern liner as well. When I see grey streaks it is usually because I just bumped my filter and now the creases in my liner are catching the DE that came out of my filter.

I love the way the gorilla pad feels on my feet while in the pool, but if it is the culprit, I’ll ditch it when I get a new liner. I honestly want a different liner anyways and plan on changing it in the next year or two, even though it’s only 1.5 years old lol. Thank you so much for the info!! It’s nice to hear from someone who also used a gorilla pad.

I do not manually vacuum, though — I just run my robot and the wrinkles don’t interfere with it thankfully. Your theory of the water getting between the gorilla pad and the liner totally makes sense. My backyard gets really muddy and swampy when it rains, so I bet that is what caused the wrinkles!

Interesting. I kind of wanted a DE filter at first since I know they are the best for filtration, but they seem a little high maintenance lol. But yeah, whatever dirt or pollen ends up where the wrinkles are so I’m always out there brushing. Super annoying. I’m going to try the plunger trick that a couple members mentioned in this thread.
