SERIOUS liner issue! Pics included! HELP!!

I love the way the gorilla pad feels on my feet while in the pool, but if it is the culprit, I’ll ditch it when I get a new liner. I honestly want a different liner anyways and plan on changing it in the next year or two, even though it’s only 1.5 years old lol. Thank you so much for the info!! It’s nice to hear from someone who also used a gorilla pad.

I do not manually vacuum, though — I just run my robot and the wrinkles don’t interfere with it thankfully. Your theory of the water getting between the gorilla pad and the liner totally makes sense. My backyard gets really muddy and swampy when it rains, so I bet that is what caused the wrinkles!

I don't have a Gorilla Pad, and mine still wrinkles. It is not as if the pad is letting water through that somehow the sand is going to stop. I also get divots with sand. If you hit the bottom hard enough with your heel it will leave a dent. I also have a small sharp rock. I went over that sand a dozen times before I put the liner in, and yet somehow there is still a small rock that I missed. I wish I had used a Gorilla Pad.

Interesting. I kind of wanted a DE filter at first since I know they are the best for filtration, but they seem a little high maintenance lol. But yeah, whatever dirt or pollen ends up where the wrinkles are so I’m always out there brushing. Super annoying. I’m going to try the plunger trick that a couple members mentioned in this thread.

Not really high maintenance. Normally I don't backwash mine during the swim seasons (Mid May to Mid September, give or take a few weeks). I just bump it when necessary

I do break it down and totally clean it each year when I close the pool. I don't know if it is the DE I get, or if there is something up with my grids, but right after I bump my filter, some fine DE comes out in the return. It only lasts for 10 - 15 minutes or so, and then the DE re-coats the grids and all is well, but then I have DE on the pool bottom. Using a slime bag stops it from happening.
