You just have to be patient. If you look, the next step is slightly visible. It wasn't in the previous picture. Occasionally, during my SLAM I would go back a few day and find a picture to compare side by side for progress. It's more noticeable that way. You're water isn't nearly as brown as it was.

I have tried to do this but I just don't see it. I do appreciated your support!

Double check and make sure the filter is not set on "recirculate". It should be set to filter.

It is set to filter. Adding a little DE raised the PSI to about 22 from 15. That's a large increase, however, water is flowing nicely. Given the large rise in PSI should I backwash, or let it run. I was trying to add just a small amount of DE to attempt to boost the filter. I added aprox. 1/3 of a cup, wherein, when I measured the rise of 1 PSI it took 3/4 of a cup.

Hi Richardc,
Joining the party a little late here but when I needed to get heavy debris out of pool, after breaking a couple of pool leaf rakes, I used a large mouthed fishing net with a large netting, it caught the leaves but let the water through. But as Divin Dave say's "experience: it is what you get after you needed it most".
You are well on your way unfortunately no magic bullet to clean overnight.

You are in good hands with the experts here, I have read and followed a lot of swampwoman's threads and she is great for clearing swamps I would follow her directions to the letter. If anyone else's directions conflict with her's, follow her's till you find out why. She would have to write a book if she were to try and tell you all the different things she is pondering and looking for.

Swampwoman, just to be sure you caught this as the activity on this thread has been extensive. Richard is on well water. (something you might want to put in your signature Richard)

Thank you for your thoughtful post !:kim:

I would say yes there is improvement. In the photo you posted this morning, you could not see a hint of the third stair. In the side view photo you posted you can see it is there. Pick one location and one time of day to take your comparative photos. That will give you the best contrast from day to day. I like the side view of the steps in strong sunlight.

Are you saying that adding 3/4 cup of DE raised the pressure from 15 to 16 & then after filtering awhile it went to 22?
If you haven't already done so then backwash & add some more DE.

The third stair is clearly visible, but I'm having trouble capturing it on a photo due to bright sunlight and angles. I will attempt to shoot later on this late afternoon or evening. But I can say unequivocally that the water is somewhat clearer. I have been adding small amounts of DE diluted to the skimmer. This has caused an increase in PSI requiring a backwash, which is the first one in many hours (24-36?). The discharge water was fairly dirty and after a good 1-2 minutes cleared up....
