Hello! First post!
I’ve been reading and learning so much thank you!
We know we need to replace a lot of things:
new cover, probably new pump and multi port (it’s running but there’s water pooling on top of the port, dripping from DE filter seam, and clearly a leak somewhere bc of the bubbly jets). Also there is lots of ground sinking, especially around the filter baskets.

We also plan to replace the faded, stained, pulling away liner and the 1970s brick decking, in the fall of 2019 or maybe 2020 so we can save up a bit.

But...Waiting to fix the leak seems like a bad idea and yet if we have to tear up the brick work and dig around we might as well be doing everything at once.

Help! Triage advice welcome!

Thank you

Hi, welcome to TFP! How bad are the leaks? The filter is probably an easy fix and it will be one less thing to do when replacing the decking and liner. Posting a couple of pictures of the problem area will help us troubleshoot your problems.

Air leaks it seems like. Jets very bubbly and pump basket window looks like white water rafting!!!

Also water leaks? Filter drips from horizontal seam. Mulch under pump is damp. Not sure if sinking baskets are indicative of leaks.

Hope these pics are ok.

You can see liner pulling away and brickwork is a mess. That pool has received 2 major mcguyvers - so far, running out of plays.

Do Coping & liner - wise to repljmb at the same time..

hi PoolguyinCT! Can you tell me more about the Macguyvers you see? Love that!! 🤣

I know the pool is way old. Limping through another season and will revamp in the fall.
