Scale on spillway

I'm back! I managed to make it out there today and mess with some. I changed the valve in the first picture so the spa was in the "off" position. Then I set the spillway up as shown in the screenlogic config. After that my spillway turned off (as expected), so I turned the spillway feature on to see if it works. I got a max pump speed warning and water started coming off the spillway at probably 10 times the previous configuration, after which I immediately turned it all off and put it back the way it was. Any advice on this? Pictures: Updated Pics

Also, is it ok to the have that valve off all the time? It won't have any impact on the hot tub itself to run it like this? I kind of assumed that return was needed for a reason.
 
You need to adjust the rpm setting for the Spillway feature.
The make up valve should be left closed when using the Spillway feature. It is closed off by your spa return valve when in spa mode now.
 
Got it. I went to SLConfig->Setup Intelliflo ->Circuit "SPillway" Flow 30GPM. Is that a reasonable number? that was the default. For reference, Pool=70GPM, Spa = 60GPM, Cleaner = 70GPM.
