Greetings TFP friends. I've been seeing the occasional 121 error on my system related to my salt cell. I called our builder (we are still within the 3 year warranty) and they are going to have Jandy replace the cell. It has some corrosion within the cell on the pins that connect to the attached 3 prong connector. When I asked the builder about failures he told me the premature failure is likely because I run the cell for too long and at too slow a speed for flow, apparently allowing chlorine gas to build up in the cell and cause corrosion. I run my pump 24/7/365 at 1650 RPM with the level set to 10-30% depending on the season... any potential truth to this? The builder said I should be running at full speed for 8 hours a day (which seems to negate the benefit of a VSP pump) and contrary to what I've read on here.

My last pool had all Pentair gear and I ran that at 1200RPM 24/7 🤷‍♂️

Thanks in advance :)

Your builder is an idiot stuck in the 1990's.

You should have got Pentair stuff like your last pool.

Those problems are common with the Aquapure and have nothing to do with your pump speed or SWG %.

Thanks, appreciate the confirmation that I'm not a total idiot. I do wish we had the Pentair gear... the covid build limited us unfortunately. Perhaps when this stuff dies post warranty I can revisit.

It took me a few years to get all the Jandy and Hayward equipment out of my pool and make it all Pentair. That was the best decision I made.
