Hi,

I just had my pool replastered that had black algae. As long as it is safe, I want to use my existing pool vacuum cleaner on my new replastered pool. How should I sanitize my existing pool vacuum cleaner ( in case it has black algae spores) to not contaminate my newly replastered pool? My current great white shark pool vacuum works great.

I am planning on replacing the filter, pool hoses, pool debris canisters, and skimmer/ pump baskets to avoid any contamination. Anything else I should replace or do?

Thank you

I would just wash it out really well. Soap and water is a great cleaner, and you could follow it up with a pail of properly chlorinated pool water.

I'll just mention that algae is literally everywhere, waiting to join the party. The key is to maintain the pool religiously based on TFPC.

Congratulations on the new pool finish!
