Hello, I am building a small inground pool and am wondering if anyone has feedback on whether a sand or cartridge filter setup is better? I remember backflushing pools many years ago with my dad, but now it seems that maybe cartridge filters are becoming more of the standard?

Thanks for any advice!

in your neck of the woods I would do a cartridge filter... I think you may get hemmed up if you were to waist 200 to 300 gallons each backwash... :)

The bigger the better.. I clean mine once a year in 10 months... get a 300, 400, or 500 sq ft series...

Also add a 3 way jandy neverlube valve after the pump but before the filter... That way you can lower the water if you needed to just like the backwash...
