I have a sand filter that has been hit and mostly miss with performance that I'm mentioned in other threads as a side note. I'm hoping someone can explain what I noticed inside mine. I don't have a picture of it but I'm sure someone will know what I'm talking about.
Inside the barrel is the usual laterals as riser but there is also a clear tube with a small fitting on the end that jus has tiny slots in it like a lateral. When I first opened the tank after the installers did their thing I noticed this tube was buried in the sand but that was probably from be moving the tank around in all different orientations.
I read that some sand tanks have an air bleed or something like that. I don't see anywhere this tube would attach to or how it would function. As I recall is starts at the bottom end of the lateral riser and extends to the top if you were to hold it there. I added a plastic wire tie to encourage it to stay at the top.
Any idea on what this is?
I have a top side multi port valve and everything is generic from the great pool store.
I do have a picture of that.
Additionally I don't think the pressure gauge has moved more than one psi under filtration. Maybe when I vacuum to waste it went up a bit.
