Salt water pools - theoretical question

If all pools eventually become a “salt water” pool- is there any reasonable basis to put a SWG in a “ non- salt” pool to generate some chlorine?

A SWG needs certain level of salinity to generate chlorine. So if your pool has that salinity level, then you can add a SWCG without adding salt to the water.

Most pools get enough rain to keep the salt levels down below what a SWCG needs...

But.. if you had a pool that had about 3600 ppm of salt, then you could just add a SWCG and turn it on.. Theoretically...
