Salt water generator setting

Factors like sunshine hours and the UV index make a big difference.

If we multiply these two, we get a pretty big difference.

January = 6.8 x 4 = 27.2.

July = 12 x 6 = 72.

72/27.2 = 2.65.

There are other factors as well including the angle of the sun, water temperature etc.

Some people see very little chlorine use over the winter compared to much higher use during summer.

It depends on your testing results, pool size, pump run time and SWG size. Every pool is different.
You will need to test FC and adjust the SWG for your pool's needs.

How are you testing? Which test kit?

For me, it varies wildly due to a multitude of factors. Basically I adjust it upwards or downwards based on testing.

Very generally, though, I increase the pump time by about 30 percent between winter and summer, and I increase the SWG duty cycle from ~40% to ~50%.

I target an FC level of 4-6 percent, and I don't stress too much about it if it goes a little bit out of range.
