Yes, I have the Sense and Dispense and it hasn't worked for awhile so I have it unplugged and I'm checking my pH manually and adding acid as needed. Kept having trouble with the pump motor on the S&D as well as it reading my pH incorrectly. I really over added acid due to reading the equipment.......learned the hard way to manually check chemical levels. I did receive the salt water test kit you suggested and I've nearly doubled the salt in the pool because of the incorrect reading. I've got 5400 ppm and should have 3200 ppm. So low salt ain't the problem. It looks more and more like my T Cell may have given up the ghost. What replacement cell would you recommend?
I wonder since I was not checking my salt level manually and depending on the equipment to alert me when salt was low that possibly I could have slowly added too much salt over time and my chlorinator cut off and quit making chlorine. Every time I checked and it was showing 2600 or 2700, I added a bag, but it seemed like it was always reading 2600 or so and I'd add a bag every week or so. The only way to lose salt is via a leak or splashing it out but I was strictly going by what the equipment showed.
My guess is I need to drain out about 30% of the water and replace with untreated water to get back to recommended salt level. Maybe then the cell will start generating some chlorine. In the meantime, I will add chlorine to the pool because there is none in there.
