Salt turned pool surface brown

Hi so I added a bag of salt to my pool at it was low after all the rainfall from hurricane Ian. I used a different brand as that’s all I could get an now the salt has stained my steps brown. Any ideas how to clean it.

Likely iron. What brand salt was it?

Use Vitamin C in a thin sock. Crush them up a bit and wipe it around the stain.

It was salinity, never had this problem with the salt from Leslie’s.
What type of vitamin c do you mean. Where could i get it from? Thanks

Clorox brand salt is known to cause iron stains.

Just vitamin C tablets. Cheapest you can find.

Wow, so I had some old vitamin c tablets, stuck them in a sock like you said and rubbed it on the stain. Instantly came off. Thank you so much, I need to buy some more vitamin c tomorrow to finish the rest but it works so well.

I put them in a wet sock and crush them up into a powder with a hammer. You can also crush them up into a fine powder on wax paper or something, dissolve it in hot water, put it in a little hand sprayer like the link below and then just squirt it underwater on whatever needs it.
