My new pebble pool is 3 weeks old and I have not added any salt yet. Using the recommended salinity test kit, my salt level shows to be 1000. Normal???
So you know how the instructions say “rinse and fill 25 ml sample to 10 ml Mark”? Well I stopped reading after the “25 ml” part. I have been doing the test with 25 ml instead of 10. Oops
Doing the test correctly says salt is 600. How’s that sound???
Better. Most tap water has 200 ppm or so. Then the MA you used (probably quite a bit if you did an acid start) plus the liquid chlorine and it could be in the range you are testing.
When you add salt, only add enough to get to 2600 ppm or so. Then let mix for 24 hours and test again. Then add what you need to get to your 3200 ppm target.
