Salt in non-saltwater pool

I'm interested in understanding the thoughts of using 2,000 ppm or less of salt in a non salt pool for skin sensitive to drying. There are no metal parts in this pool except for the heater which is rated for SWG pools and a Hayworth DE filter.
The pool equipment is below grade so the system does use quite a few check valves which have metal spring operated flappers.
The lining is pebble-tech. There is a great deal of flagstone in the coping, boulders in the pool, and a small waterfall. It has a beach entry, a Baja shelf, and an infinity edge.
The pool chemistry is rarely out of balance and is always crystal clear.

How do you chlorinate your pool?

Using liquid chlorine or trichlor will both add salt that will accumulate in water over time. If you don't drain water from a pool the water can have 2000 ppm of salt in a year or two.
