I posted about this last year and I got a few suggestions but nothing fixed it, I was basically told it can't be happening. when I pull my Dolphin S200 out of the pool it starts releasing dirt and until I pull it out. it's kind of defeating the point of vacuuming.I guess I need to see if my local pool store can service it?

Not much else to say that was not said in your thread last year. The dirt is kept in by the fabric flap in the bottom of the filter basket.

Also check the rapid drain flap in the back of the robot.

yeah, so if it appears to be working, but isn't...what could it be? it starts as soon as I start pulling it up. it's so frustrating to spend that much money there's nothing that can be done. I'd stick with side suction cleaners but booster pumps don't like me and they are expensive too!

I was also hoping maybe within a year someone else had this problem. I can't believe I'm the only one!

You have thoroughly checked the fabric flap. It has a metal bar on each side that is magnetized and sticks together.

I think if the rapid drain flap was missing the the robot would have a hard time pulling in the debris into the filter so if you see dirt flying while it's on duty then the flap isn't there or fastened properly. If your seeing dirt come out while lifting it then it may have a jamed rapid flap issue so the filter box has too much water with no where to go and can exit the material flap in the debris cath box. Or, something stuck in the material flap not letting it seal properly thus letting go of some debris. Are you sure you have the correct debris filter cath basin that gets properly sealed when the filter door is closed, if for some reason you have a shorter one if that's at all possible designed for another model then the debris isn't caught solely in the filter catch box.

I don't know what a debris cath basin is.

Rapid drain flap looks very unfamiliar and I don't see that.

my fabric flap looks functional.

If the rapid drain flap is not there, you simply will not pick up much debris in the filter. It is located under the robot, on the backside.

It allows you to pick up the robot out of the water. We have had members find theirs in the skimmer basket, etc.

Ok I watched a video and I do have the rapid drain flap, but it appears to be open, so I wonder if I need to replace it. from the video description it sounds exactly how I could lose dirt when lifting it out.

When the robot is not operating, it is open. But the suction when the robot is running should close the flap.

If the robot is picking up dirt and it is staying in the filter when operating, the rapid drain flap is working.
If the robot dumps the dirt when you take it out of the pool, the non return flap is not closing.

For the low cost, I would get a replacement non return flap and see what happens.

It's rather simple if your losing dirt when taking it out of the water you then have one of 3 scenarios:
a) the rapid flap is stuck and water cannot exit fast enough thereby dirt is flowing out the the material flap
b) the material flap has something stuck where it cannot completely close letting some dirt back out of the filtered area
c)the filter box isn't the correct one possibly short and not sealing against the gasketed filter access door.

Well I don't know how to figure out which of those it is. Maybe the pool store can? I'll have to call them anyway to see if they sell maytronics yet and have the non return flap I can buy.

I linked to a site that sells Maytronic parts. Even call them and talk to them about your issue.
