I'll let you read the Owners thread and decide for yourself. Mine is quite new but satisfaction runs pretty deep among others.

Does the S50 come with the pleated filter? Have a friend with an AGP looking to buy a robot. I am concerned that that model
only has the mesh screen.

S50 only has a mesh basket. Though that's all pooldv has ever used on his S200 and he's a big fan.

I have the Dolphin Premier and while it works great for me, I have very few large leaves. I most always use the pleated filters and it keeps my pool spotless. As far as I can tell it does not miss a spot. Of course, like all robots it does not do stairs or seats, at least not all the time.
The design of the unit does not allow for it to pick up a lot of big leaves as there is just no place for them to go.
The next robot I buy will be the newer design, with the top loading basket and no handle. Like, or similar to, the Active 30i.
I have the remote for the Premier , but have never found a reason to use it..

For your pool, I woukd suggest one of the M Series, or the Oasis Z5. Cant beat em, but they aren't cheap.
