RJ 60 No Salt and No Light

Day 1 into my new SWG and when I started the cell showed just above 3000 ppm salt and the green generate light was on. Salt test is 3900 ppm.

2 hours later I check in on it and it show 0000 ppm and no generate light and no low Salt light.
Any ideas on what's going on?

Check back in 5minutes. The system runs by generating for a short time and then pauses, then back on, pauses, etc.

Power cycled and that corrected it. But confidence is low it will stay on and generating.

The only way it will generate 100% of the time is when the unit set to 100% or when "Super CL" is active on the control panel. Otherwise, generation time is based on the percentage selected on the the control panel.

Most Salt Water Chlorine Generators (SWG) in the US adjust their chlorine output by turning their generation on and off. The user sets the % the cycle should generate chlorine. Different models automatically turn their chlorine generation on and off with different time cycles. The cycle time of the SWG you have or are thinking of using can interact with your pump runtime.

What percentage is the SWG controller set to?
I believe the Circupool RJ series has a 180 minute cycle.
If the controller is set to 50%, when the controller powers on the cell will be on for 90 minutes and off for 90 minutes. This pattern will repeat until power is removed from the controller.
Each cycling of the controller power switch will start the cycle all over again.

How are you testing your pool water? Test Kits Compared
Do you have a drop based salt test as well?

Thanks. Makes sense. I see ite st 20 percent. It's rated for 60000 gallons and all.i have is 12500 gallons.

I set it at 20 percent. I just completed a new water opening and about 3 days on SLAM while I get the chemistry mostly set. All I am chasing now is TA which is running about 200 down from 240. Testing with a TFP 100 Pro FC doing a drop test.

FC when I started up was 8 ppm and CYA is increasing from 0 on the way to 70. 5 days in I am guessing I am about 20 ppm CYA and that's with about 75% of what poolmath cited to get to 50 ppm. So I am going slow on that. Salt is 3800 to 4000 on the test kit drop test. The controller says 3100 to 3200. Letting it settle in.

Fir me the biggest question will be figuring out pump run time. I like to run at least 8 hours as the pool gets leaves in it pretty quickly. So trying to.find the right % on the SWG to dial in my FC...while also trying to dial in CYA.

Until I am stable I will.just run 8 ppm FC as my target.

Does this sound like a good plan?

Does your SWG have a separate timer to remove power any time the pump is off? The SWG flow switch is the secondary safety device - a timer is the primary safety device.

I will look for the pump and add that.

INTERTEC timer and the pu.p.is wired to the timer switch with the pump.

I am using the TF100 Pro Salt kit and my results are:

FC - 7 TO 8 FAS DPD
CC - 0 to 0.5
pH - 7.5 to 7.7 but dropping daily to 7 for TA
TA - 200 dropped from 260 on to 70
CH - 250 up from 125
CYA - somewhere around 20 and increasing slow
Salt - 3800 to 4000 ppm drop test
