Another thing thats crossing my mind is if the infinity edge thing might be a bad idea since its soo wide and the drop is soo much I think I am ok without it, but as long as the pool is still in this same area because taht view will still be beautiful no matter what. Also not sure if to maintain the catch will be a pain.

Once again I can't express my gratitude for the community here. I am involved in sneaker collecting and a lot of other things and all have communities but this one tops it all, which was soo surprising.

The infinity edge from your first concept pic would need a lot concrete and engineering to get it right. I suspect you’ll need some serious engineering without it and will probably need a secondary retaining wall down where the lower overflow pool is. Our little pool is about 3 foot out of ground on one side and has a 5 block wall on another, with the right engineering anything is possible but it all adds up in terms of cost. Our pool edge across our wall is hard to get to for cleaning and maintenance which would be similar to your infinity wall.

Infinity edges do drive pH. I wouldn’t do an infinity edge but I love the look of the zero edge pools.

From the initial pics it looks like you’re sacrificing outdoor living and entertaining space. That beautiful deck. A pool will draw you outside where you will need more outdoor space. Think how you will interact with the new pool and how both the indoor areas and outdoor are connected. We designed our kitchen space to maximise the view to the pool and outdoor area.

Curiosity question.
How is the liner sealed so water does not get behind it in the infinity area? I am sure there are ways to seal it, but seems if it sealed well then it would make liner replacement a challenge and if not it's a higher chance of leaking.

I would rather have thousands of pounds of concrete doing the "retaining" than a flimsy steel framework so my vote is gunite :)

Hi All,

Just got some referrals from one of the companies that I feel is the most confident from the start.

What would be the best questions that I ask these people as I have their numbers.

Thanks again. Cant wait to get into construction and post pics along the way!

Matt
