Hello all great and knowledgeable pool folks. Long time member of TFP and reader of many topics, I just don't usually have much to say.
However, today, I have a nearly 10 yr old Hayward Pro Grid DE filter that just started to pass DE into the pool. I have no doubt that it's time to replace some, if not all of the grids, due to their advanced age. My question is, since I haven't opened it up yet, are there any other parts I should also be replacing due to age at this point? Of course, when I open it up and happen to see a broken top manifold, I'll know at that point I have to replace that as well. But, if it or the filter locator on the bottom aren't broken, is it ok to keep them until they do break? Also, one last question, since I'm full of them today, where is the best source for new pool equipment/supplies like this? I appreciate any and all feedback.
