I just bought my first home and it has a rather large pool in the backyard. It is an IG pool but the pool is built up about 3 feet off the ground. I’m assuming they did this to allow for the 10 foot deep end being so close to sea level they couldn’t go that deep into the ground. There is an about 3 feet of concrete patio around the pool (it’s quite narrow) and there is quite a few of cracks throughout different spots in the surface of the concrete. I’m wondering what is my best option for fixing the concrete around the pool? Is it safe to remove the concrete patio and replace it with the pool being built up out of the ground? I’m afraid if I just resurface the concrete the cracks will happen again.
The pool was resurfaced recently and looks great, when I just redid all the pool plumbing we opened it up from the side to run new pipes and I noticed the sand/dirt had sunk under the patio about 4-6 inches & there are some rusted rebar in there as well.
I’m 26 and a new home owner so any knowledge info would be greatly appreciated!
