Replaced EasyTouch Panel with Intellicenter i10 - Can't Control Anything

We had an EasyTouch panel so I got an upgrade kit to an Intellicenter i10p panel. Got everything hooked up. Panel is powered on. Updated the firmware. The system is getting an IP address. But I can't control a single thing. Documentation talks about a service mode, but I don't see a service mode option. I have the intellicenter2 app but it won't connect to the system. I have checked an the system is getting power.

Also … just a suggestion … but maybe post some pictures of the board and the system so we can see the wiring. Perhaps something is not properly attached.

I claim to know nothing about automation setups as mine was done by the builder and it works so I genuinely don’t fool around with it (if it ain’t broke then don’t “fix” it is my motto …). But I did notice one peculiarity on your setup … the FLTR relay connector on the control board is not hooked up to anything. Maybe that’s way my automation is setup too (I haven’t really looked in a long time) but the “FILTER” relay is the one that usually turns on the main pump, SWG, etc, and is technically the first relay on the row to be energized. Not sure that it matters much as the IntelliFlo VSP is controlled through RS485 but it did seem odd to me that the relay control wire is not there.

Just something that jumped out at me in the pictures. Others I’m sure will have more astute observations.

I have an old school (11+ seasons now) EasyTouch panel that I have have NEVER tried to “update” since the day it got started. It works and I don’t mess with it (even the firmware is still original). But someday it will die and I will be dragged kicking and screaming to update the panel to an IntelliCenter. So this thread is interesting to me 😁

Rus,

You have a SWCG, this means that the SWCG Transformer MUST be wired to the load side of the Pump/Filter Relay.. It is a Safety requirement and not an option..

That is not your current issue, but something you need to fix...

Is your IntelliCenter hard-wired to the network or are you using a Wi-Fi.. If Wi-Fi, Please show me the antenna wiring.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I'm not completely following you on the SWCG wiring. That was done previous to me. I guess I don't fully understand where it should be connected.

The Intellicenter has an ethernet line going to a new high-power wireless antenna (900mhz). Then the other side of that is a High Power Wireless Link that is physically plugged into my network switch.

. Documentation talks about a service mode, but I don't see a service mode option.

Service Mode is only available on the Outdoor Control Panel (OCP).

Press SETTINGS and you should see selections to set the panel to AUTO or SERVICE.

Does your panel pass the Internet Connection Test?

Did you register pand create your login with Pentair from the OCP?

Did you Login to Existing Account to connect your panel to the Pentair servers in the cloud.

I've attached an image that shows I have the OCP panel, but I do not see the service option.

And I have 900mhz high powered wireless link kit so there is no network or wifi setup info.

Hit the back arrow on the upper right and get back to the Home Screen.

Go to the Configure Network page and see if you pass the Internet Connection Test?

On the panel, I do not have an option to setup an account. I posted the image of what the app shows me which says of course to go to the OCP and create an account. But that option does not show up for me.

Power down the IntelliCenter and reboot it.

Show me the Home page that comes up when you power it up.

Assuming the filter pump and swg are both hooked up via 120v, they appear to be hooked to relay 2 instead of the filter relay. Check to make sure the lv cable going to relay 2 is plugged into the fltr relay port on the intellicenter board.

Your panel is acting like an Indoor Control Panel. The ICP does not have certain screens and functions like SERVICE mode and the Network Setup pages.

I have both an OCP and ICP and see the differences. Your screens look like my ICP.

I am running 2.017 while you are on 1.064 so some things will be different.

You need to call Pentair Support and escalate to an IntelliCenter specialist. I think they need to send you a 2.XXX release and replace 1.064. There is something wrong with the firmware you are running.

Did you load this firmware into your system?

I appreciate that. I will call them. I updated to 1.064 from the firmware off the site. I was seeing the same screens before the update. It said something about the 2.x firmware, but it was not available to download.

Pentair had so many problems when people upgraded their system to 2.017 that they pulled the update and told folks to revert to 1.064 if they had problems.

It seemed to me the problems were with upgrades on existing system configurations.

The way to make 2.017 work is reset the system to factory defaults erasing the configuration, loading 2.017, and entering all the configuration and settings.
