We are having our pool remodeled by a local well respected pool contractor. We were zeroing in on going to plaster, when the contractor advised us the new gunite did not bond to the old gunite/shockcrete and there were many hollow areas under/in the newe gunite.
About 3 inches of gunite was removed today and the contractor after walking the pool feels confident, the problem has been resolved. However, to reshoot gunite rerquires about 6 inches of gunite be removed.
The PM mentioned using a slurry of some sort to replace the removed gunite.
What is this product called and can someone explain it to me. I understand it consists of 2 or 3 coats.
