refurbishing pool steps

Our pool has three steps in, then you are on the liner bottom, I would think they are fiberglass, and they have lots of hairline cracks and some rust staining where there's probably some attachment points that are made with material that will rust.

Has any forum member ever replaced theirs or seen how they are installed when a liner pool is built? This pool is 30 years old, and we're getting ready to replace the liner, so now's the time to figure out what's a decent fix short of replacing them. Thanks for your feedback,

Some folks have done small minor cosmetic repairs.

Absolutely the stairs can get replaced when the liner gets replaced. The steps are often white, but I prefer the colored blue-gray ones as they look cool.
I can't guess what new ones cost....but ya gotta have'em, right? <shrug>
